Joint Department Guidelines
Solstice Roleplay
1 | Warrants
Warrants may be requested through the MDT any time a supervisor or above deems one is necessary. Warrants must be reviewed by the Department of Justice before any LEO action can be taken. No law enforcement officer or agency, regardless of position or department, may execute any warrant without the approval of a judge.
2 | Department Transfers
Department transfers must be agreed upon by the high command of both the receiving and the sending department. Emergency responders are eligible for transfer requests after two (2) weeks of being within a department, and may not join another department after a minimum of two (2) weeks after a transfer is complete.
3 | Special Weapons and Tactical Response Team
Special Weapons and Tactical Response Teams should only be activated as needed. They are not to actively patrol. Special Weapons and Tactical Response Team should only be deployed after the approval from a ranking SRT certified member of the department or approval from the Department of Justice.
4 | Unmarked Units
For every three (3) marked units, one (1) unmarked unit may be activated. Unmarked units should not be alone on general operation scenes, such as traffic stops.
5 | Undercover
Operations and Cars Special operations consisting of all unmarked, civilian looking, LEO cruisers. Any undercover vehicle in use strictly for UC operations may exceed the marked to unmarked ratio, but must be put away after the operation. The use of non emergency vehicles may only be utilized under the approval of command.
6 | Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T)
A department's Precision Immobilization Technique, P.I.T, policy may not exceed that of 110 MPH or the policy of the San Andreas State Police, whichever is lesser.
7 | Jail Timing
Officers may only issue jail sentences up to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per individual booking. The following conditions apply:
- 7.1 | Charges Exceeding the Cap
Where an individual's charges warrant incarceration beyond thirty (30) minutes, the matter must be referred to the Department of Justice for judicial sentencing. Only a judge may impose jail time exceeding the standard officer-issued maximum. - 7.2 | Credit for Time Served
Time spent in custody during processing or holding prior to sentencing must be credited toward the total sentence, and this credit must be calculated before the sentence is issued. (Example: the penal code prescribes a 50-month sentence; the individual has already served the equivalent of 30 minutes in holding; the individual may therefore be jailed for a maximum of 20 months.) - 7.3 | Reduction and Plea Agreements
Officers may issue a reduced sentence in exchange for cooperation, a guilty plea, or other mitigating circumstances. Any reduction must remain within the lawful charges applicable to the arrest.
8 | H.E.A.T and Speed Enforcement
The use of dedicated H.E.A.T vehicles are not permitted under normal conditions. H.E.A.T vehicles may be activated when a pursuit, or series of pursuits, are initiated, and a supervisor or above deems it is necessary to activate one. There may only be one (1) H.E.A.T car at a time, and may not be unmarked
